Our mission is to provide the North Texas community with the opportunity to experience rare, endangered and exotic wildlife in a unique and personal setting. What better way to learn about conservation than by seeing it up close and hands on?
Our facility sits on a beautiful 126 acre ranch and offers field trips, private tours, a walk-thru petting zoo, an outdoor dining areas and snack bar to help make Sharkarosa Zoo your next wild adventure!
Our facility is always growing! On a typical day Sharkarosa is home to 180+ animals. We are not by definition a “rescue” organization. However, we do assist with exotic animal rescues by lending experience, needed supplies or housing. Please see the Donations page to find out how you can help us with these ongoing projects.
Open to the Public Days are every Friday, Saturday and Sunday as long as the weather permits.
From June 1 – August 31, we are open Tuesday – Sunday 9 A.M. – 4 P.M. and closed Mondays.
All other events require an advanced reservation. Please browse our Visitor’s Guide for information on how to book a private tour, field trip or party.

Dear Guests…
The Sharkarosa Zoo was built to raise funds for the preservation of exotic wildlife and to work closely with charitable and educational groups.
The Zoo was also created to say Thank You to all the people throughout the years who believed in me and made this dream possible.
Especially, my family & those special friends whose loyalty and devotion helped me make it through the hard times.
No matter who you are, it’s the people who believe in you that make the difference.
So, my thank you to those special people is the Sharkarosa Zoo. I hope you enjoy it and what it stands for.
Thank you for your faith,
Scott Edwards

EXCELLENT Based on 1635 reviews Posted on Indhu's InfinityTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This zoo is awesome! You can feed camels and zebras, and tons more. They have white tigers, hyenas, binturongs, and so much more. The macaw is super cool, it laughs when you ask it to and even talks a little! All the animals looked well cared for, and I'd love to go back. It's a fantastic place for kids to have fun.Posted on Carrie RollTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I attended the Sharkarosa Zoo on a field trip, as a school bus driver. The thing I want to speak on the first is how INCREDIBLY kind the staff is, and how kid friendly their zoo is. They took great care in explaining the rules of the Zoo to the group of first graders I transported, to be sure everyone had a good time, including the animals we were visiting. They were extremely kind to me, as well, and I got in for free! Keep in mind; the Zoo was closed to the public, we were the only group there, so they knew who I was. That being said; they could have just pushed me aside, but when I asked about a few things, the staff was so kind and put in the extra effort to explain my question on private tours, as well as a few questions about my favorite animals. We had our own private guide. The Zoo hosts a lot of unique animals; capybara, bengal tiger, and a few celebrity animals as well that were known in show business. The grounds are covered in pebbles so a motorized wheel chair might be easiest to get around on, or a motorized scooter, if you have the need. They had an air conditioned cafeteria with a gift shop with some very awesome nicknames, shirts, stuffed animals, magnets etc. While navigating the park there were hand washing stations, clear signage as to what animals are touch friendly. There’s a splash pad and playground for the children as well. Feed can be purchased as you walk in, and on a school bus driver salary, is affordable! As an animal lover, I would pick this zoo over larger zoo’s in the area. Having a private tour guide is a whole new experience for adults and children alike, and there’s just enough things here to wear the kids out and still have fun. TLDR?: Stop staring at your screen, pack up the car and take your family to Sharkarosa Zoo! 🦈🌹😎Posted on Yogesh DashoraTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really intimate experience compared to a larger zoo and the guides were all very knowledgable about the animals. There's scheduled feedings where you can talk to the workers about the various animals and see them eat! You can get bags of feed to give goats, horses, camels and other things snacks.
